September 16 in the Cafetorium:  The Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) is teaming up with Raleigh, NC's renowned A/V Geeks to dust off the 16mm projector for a one-night-only screening of vintage educational films.

Hosted by Skip Elsheimer, the mastermind behind A/V Geeks who has rescued thousands of discarded 16mm reels over the decades to create the largest educational and industrial training archive in the world.  He goes through them all, selecting the most weird and wondrous - stuff you will wonder at ever having been made.  This special program features gems from both his and TAMI’s collections. Join us as we tackle everything from mid-century nuclear preparedness to social-emotional growth, and more!

September 18 in the Cafetorium:  Chef and creator Olivia Tiedemann celebrates the launch of her debut cookbook, Eat (Like) the Rich, in conversation with Joshua Weissman.

Doors open at 6:00 PM. Grab drinks inside with Empress 1908 Gin is mixing cocktails for free—then head out to the parking lot, where Sammataro will be serving food inspired by Eat (Like) the Rich.

At 7:00 PM, Olivia takes the stage in conversation with fellow Austin-based chef and creator Joshua Weissman, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Joshua Weissman: An Unapologetic Cookbook and Joshua Weissman: Texture Over Taste. Both have built devoted followings by sharing their cooking with honesty and confidence. Expect a lively, substantive conversation about food, craft, and what it takes to cook well at home, followed by audience Q&A and a book signing.

Tickets include a copy of the book and a reserved seat.

Sept 26, in the Cafetorium:  Join us for a special Austin screening of The Life of the Party, presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters and Braver Angels.  From 9:30am to 11:30am. The Life of the Party is a 40-minute documentary following three Republican women in Texas with sharply different views of their party as they navigate leadership, political identity, and a changing political landscape.

Following the screening, Laura Rice, host and managing producer of Texas Standard, will lead a panel discussion with former TX State Representative and film participant Geanie Morrison and co-directors Meg Griffiths and Scott Faris.

The morning will conclude with a facilitated community conversation led by the League of Women Voters and Braver Angels, inviting audience members to unpack the film’s themes, share perspectives, and explore what it means to engage across political differences. October 3:  Step into an intimate listening room! GRAMMY-winning Conspirare singers workshop new music and explorations from Craig Hella Johnson right in front of you. Includes movements from This One Body (working title), a new multi-movement work.

There are two performances on October 3;  at 3pm and 7pm

We are so excited that we can’t wait for an actual opening date to announce that Terrible Love’s long awaited wine bar is nearing completion, and should be open before the end of September!  You love their coffee, you’ll love their wine and food.
